Anne Marie Bowman "The Goddess"
Being A Goddess.
It has nothing to do with what you look like. It has to do with what you're made of, what's inside you, what kind of person you are. It has to do with honor and strength, courage and integrity, morals, values and beliefs. Belief in yourself, and the power within. And being true to yourself.

So what do you want to know about me? I guess if you've looked around this site you can pretty much figure out what I am about. But can you really? You might think I an superficial, a name dropper. Yeah, I've been called that before. I am actually a deeply spiritual person with complex personality. I consider myself intelligent, and like to learn new things everyday. Knowledge=Power. No challenge goes by without me giving it my best shot. I set goals and achieve them. I am determined, ambitious, yet fair and cautious. I am a Capricorn, a leader, not a follower.

I love music. I have realized that music is my life. Music is the reason I was born. I know this, and so should you. Because I will never give up. I love Heavy Metal, I have been a metalhead for 20 years now. Black and Death Metal are my favorites, but I  like all kinds of metal. I also like other forms of music, Classical, World and New Age stuff.
Early influences were Kiss, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. From there it went to Ozzy, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, then on to Venom, Metallica, Mercyful Fate and Slayer.
Reign In Blood! Bay Area thrash. Sepultura in 1988, and in 1989, Morbid Angel-Altars of Madness. Death Metal, Black Metal. The rest is history! Look on my front page-those band links? That is what I listen to. What I love.

From 1987-1991 I managed a record store in Philadelphia called Rock-n-Roll Plus. I turned that store into the premeire underground metal store and still to this day it is just that. From 1990-92 I published a fanzine called Carnage. First issue had interviews with Morbid Angel, Carcass and Napalm Death amonst others. I also started managing bands and booking underground shows at clubs in New Jersey and Philadelphia. Goreaphobia was one band I managed. I really believed in them-too bad they didn't believe in themsleves. My shows were the highlight of the underground scene in the whole Northeast. I used to pair up Suffocation with Deceased and Ripping Corpse. Or Immolation and Incantation. Revenant, Exmortis and Prime Evil. Cannibal Corpse and Malevolent Creation
before they were signed. Hellwitch from Florida, Fatal from Michigan and Nuclear Death from Arizona. EVERYONE wanted to play a show at good old G-Willikers. And I used to draw crowds from 6 States, people traveling as much as 300 miles! Of course I had to put these people up at my house...but we will not get into the wild keg parties, the 50 people sleeping all over the house, naked people running up and down the streets, the noise, the neighbors who hated me and the cops...Ask King Fowley-he'll tell you.
I Started getting offers to do national shows. First one I did was Death and Carcass. Of Course Goreaphobia opened every show I booked. I booked Deicide, Sepultura, Obtiuary, Sadus, Napalm Death, Nocturnus, Morbid Angel, Entombed, Unleashed, Violence, Devestation, Bolt Thrower. Hell I even booked Biohazard and Type O Negative. I am sure I am forgetting some...but boy, those were the days. After getting shafted one too many times by greedy agents and band managers, I gave up the shows and concentrated on writing. I stayed in retail management all through the nineties, working for the largest music selling chain in America. I have tried to get out of retail, but now work at Barnes & Noble Bookstores. I am still writing. In the 90's I wrote for my best friends fanzine called
Delirium. It is now a webzine and not a print mag, and I still contribute when I can. I Started writing for Ill Literature and Pit Magazines in 1998, and Metal Maniacs in 2001. I love what I do, And it shows in my writing. I am a fan, and it shines through. I never went to school or took classes in creative writing or jouranlism. I have no clue if I am doing it "correct." But I have a talent for it. And I am determined, and work hard and give it my all...I like to work-am I weird or what?
Last year I was given the opportunity to work for Paula Hogan doing publicity for her company, ManicPR. We handled Candlelight, Peaceville and Hammerheart records in America. With a roster like that, I was in heavy metal heaven. It didn't work out because of financial reasons, but now that I have publicity experience it's something I might try again. I liked doing it, it was gratifying to help the bands I admire so much.
What else? My hobbies...I really think everything about me is connected-my spirituality and the music. And my hobbbies. Do I remember a catalyst that turned me on the path I am on? Yes. Discovering Greek Mythology in the fourth grade. Discovering Kiss at ten years old. Reading Lord Of The Rings when I was seventeen. Seeing the Omen and the Exorcist at fourteen. All of this is connected. All of this and more makes me what I am. Lord Of The Rings was a big influence on me. It taught me about courage, loyalty, strength, friendship, being true to yourself and following your heart. It also tought me to never give up in the face of extreme adversity, no matter how grave the odds seem. It gave me a "Warrior spirit."
I am a Witch. A Neo-Pagan, mostly influenced by Wicca, but not toally tranditonal Wiccan. I am a solitary praticioner, but have friends I celebrate with from time to time. I also will celebrate Major Sabbats with local covens in my area who have open rituals. I do magic-white magic you would say. It works. I read tarot cards and can draw up birth charts. I study Greek/Celtic and Norse Mythology.
I love to read. Mostly fantasy and "dark" stuff for novels, horror, the classics, witchcraft/magic/pagan books, history books, Mythology and astrology. I like
thrillers and murder mysteries.  I like epic poems like Beowulf and Inferno. I also like Keats and Tennyson, and their comtemporaries, and the art of that same time peroid. (Pre-Raphaelites, Romantic and Neo-Classical.)  Check my Art page. My Favorite artist is John William Waterhouse. I love to travel. I like to see old things, Castles, Cathedrals, graveyards, old buildings, museums. I am fascinated by history. I feel I am an old soul who has lived before, and I am just visiting places I have been before...Well I am almost out of room. What else? I like Movies-dark stuff. From Hell, Sleepy Hollow, Lord Of The Rings. I like faeries. I like Incense and candles. I like Gargoyles.  I love animals-go look at my cats. And I love men. Even though they're stupid. Haha. Well they are! They wish for a Goddess all their lives, and then are terrified when they actually  meet one. Men-go figure. But I still love them...we won't talk about what I love to do with them...but you get the picture right? ;)
